Each day, each caliber's median in-stock cost per round at covered retailers is divided by its base-month median. The day's reading is the average of those ratios × 100.
A caliber with no successful check that day is left out of that day, and the day says so. A day with fewer than 4 calibers is dropped.
Monthly value = mean of the month's daily readings; under 20 days marks the month partial. A caliber that goes more than 7 days without a check is excluded from that month.
