How Ammo Tracker works
Ammo Tracker is a free ammo price search with an optional free account for tracking what you own. This page says exactly what it does, where the prices come from, and what we do with your data.
The search
Type a caliber and you get every in-stock listing we found at our covered retailers, sorted by cost per round before shipping. No account, no cap, no sign-up wall.
Every price carries the time we last checked it. Prices change quickly, so always confirm at the retailer before you buy.
You can hide out-of-stock items and filter by casing, condition, grain weight, bullet type, brand, and rounds per box. Sort by cost per round, total price, or availability.
We show what we found, in price order. Affiliate relationships never change what appears or where it appears.
What a free account adds
Know what you own, how fast you use it, and when to restock.
- Inventory. Ammo by lot, with round counts, cost basis, and notes. Loaded magazines and rotation, if you want that level of detail.
- Firearms. Optional. Names, calibers, lifetime round counts from your logbook, and maintenance reminders. There is no serial-number field.
- Watches and alerts. Watch a caliber or a product and get an email when it drops below a price you set. Alerts are per watch, opt-in, and capped so you never get flooded.
- Saved searches. Keep a filter set and reopen it in one click.
- Restock assistant. Set a reserve target per ammo type; we show your shortfall, your burn rate from what you've logged, and whether a price is good against what you have paid before.
- Weekly digest. Opt-in. Your calibers, what moved, and what's below reserve. One email, one-click unsubscribe.
All of it is free. There is no paid tier, no trial, and no card to enter.
Where the prices come from
We check a specific set of retailers. The Coverage page lists every one, the calibers we check there, and the time of the last successful check. That set is not the whole market: a caliber or retailer missing from Ammo Tracker has not been checked, which is not the same as confirmed unavailable.
Retailers either send us a product feed or give us permission to read their category pages a few times a day. We identify ourselves on every request, respect each site's crawl rules, and never work around bot protection.
A price older than 24 hours is hidden, not shown as current. Out-of-stock listings leave the results but stay in the history.
Cost per round is the listed price divided by the round count, before shipping, tax, and fees. We do not estimate shipping, because retailers change it at checkout.
Price history pages and the monthly index are built from the same checks, only from covered retailers, and every chart says how many retailers went into it.

Your data
Your inventory is yours. It is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
Searching needs no account and stores nothing about you. With an account, we store what you enter: ammo, optional firearm details, your watches and alerts, and your notification settings. We do not ask for a serial number; there is no field for one.
We measure page views and a short list of named events, with no session recording and no inventory contents in any event.
Every email is opt-in per feature and carries a one-click unsubscribe.
Retailers and how we're paid
Ammo Tracker is free to use. Some retailer links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate status never affects ranking, inclusion, or the price shown. The cheapest qualifying listing is first whether or not we earn on it. If we ever run a sponsored placement, it will be labeled as one.
